When I began preparing for this Installation, I knew I wanted to create a virtual version as well.
Rachelle Moore, Binghamton University
librarian and web director, who had helped me create web sites
for other creative projects, agreed to help me with this project. I wanted to "post" my literary
text and work with text & image. We began modestly with a few links to images but soon took off.
Rachelle has a gift of listening to artists really listening and then presenting various models of
presentation. As we moved along, we began working creatively together. Sometimes she would create
background images that looked like faded wallpaper to create an effect she thought I was trying to
achieve. Sometimes I would bring in photos and ideas and present them to her and she and I would
think together, talking through themes and metaphors and so on. We both grew in the process.
This web site was a collaborative effort, with me-the-writer making final decisions. We tried to
honor the story I was trying to tell while at the same time recreating it in this different medium.
