On the surface, HOMECOMING is a memoir of my aging parents roughly over a decade (1985-1995),
but it is really somewhere between autobiography and memoir. It is about seeing my parents aging and
taking care of them and thinking about aging myself. It's also about the American cultural story of Florida where
the older become elderly in a Disneyland of pink flamingos, palm trees, pastel-colored houses, and retirement communities.
And it's about the larger cultural problem of death without dignity.
