At the back of the gallery I placed an enlarged photo I took of a Florida sunset, which I draped with sheer curtains flanked by pink curtains to give visitors the feeling of a picture window in "The Pink House," Sun Ray Homes. I played videotapes of Lawrence Welk shows (1958) to suggest the setting. To the right, you can see the area I used to represent the back porch of "The Pink House."

With an old box fan, plants, a 1950s TV tray, and a flower-covered lounge chair, visitors could imagine my mother there. I used a discarded LA- Z- BOY rocker to represent my father's chair. Again, I put text and photos on the wall and artifacts on the shelf. Visitors could watch a Lawrence Welk show from this chair.
