On a river walk along Binghamton, New York’s Chenango River heading toward Confluence Park where the Chenango meets the Susquehanna River, this is what I saw: frame after frame of works of art by nature in the aftermath of stormy spring weather. A few afternoons of sunshine dried and caked the mud, causing it to crack and break into pieces like a puzzle. I ran home and got my camera! What you see here head-on is what I saw underfoot. No computer-assisted manipulation, not even the color. Exhibited On the Wall at River Read Books, First Friday, March 2011.
